Rajo Laurel Designed a Singlet for HSBC

"I  was inspired!  I had to do it!  I was inspired by the concept of speed and how this would reflect in my design."

These are the exclamatory words by Sir Rajo Laurel when he is asked by HSBC to design a singlet  for their 135th anniversary run. The proceeds of the said event were going to Hands on Manila.  (http://www.stylebible.ph/blogs/)

Anyway, what is a sniglet? a singlet is actually a sleeveless undergarment covering the body from the shoulders to the hips or it could be a garment worn with shorts of athletes.

He explained that "by rapidly sketching lines horizontally and then vertically he started to create his Singlet design. And from there he took a tank top template and figured the slashing motion into the design.  He then wanted to use a racer back detail with sharper angles!"

...as a result, a cool and fashionable marathon singlet.

NOTE: As much as I love to post the picture of Sir Rajo Laurels design, I can't post it by now. I'm still waiting for him to grant my request. In the mean time you can check this link ( http://blogs.stylebible.ph/rajosblog/2010/09/22/my-singlet-for-hsbc/comment-page-1/#comment-6265 ).

Your Designer 101,

Anthony
