Here is my 5th blog for FASHIONSTYLEADVICE.COM, that has been published last November 1. Thank you Milana for posting it.
Getting ready for a date is fun, but if it’s a guy from the past you’re going on a date with it becomes nerve wracking and even harder than preparing for a first date.
There are lots of different opinions on dating ex-boyfriends, but we are not going to focus on that here. Here, we will focus on how to dress for this date.
Golden Rules:
The golden rule to look beautiful in a way that you don’t look like you obviously put extra effort into choosing your perfect outfit still stands. Take his breath away with an effortless, but subtlety flirty look.
From a guy’s point of view “we want to see our ex’es looking amazing but not too dressed up, and it is even better if we could see how happy and pretty they are now.” So, here are the tips that will surely take his breath away for the second time, whether you want him back, or you just want him to understand that it’s his loss.
1.) Wear clothes that define not only the words “I will survive” but also “I will thrive”. Slim black pants, paired with red heels are perfect to create this aura.
2.) Seal the past with monochromatic ensemble, but with a touch of boldness. A black or white outfit with jewelry as an accent is perfect. Adding ultra feminine accessories will also do the trick.
3.) You can wear jeans with your floral top in beautiful fall colors. If you are not a jeans type of girl, a printed dress is a good alternative. You can also try to layer a cardigan over your mini dress. You might get cold, not just because it’s winter but also because having a date with your ex is unnerving.
4.) If it is a fancy date, mixing your basic items with contrasting shoes or a bag will give you a look full of confidence. A belt can also do wonders.
5.) And last but definitely not the least, have a new haircut that he has never seen when you were together. Remember, grooming speaks everything, shiny hair with no tangles , manicured nails and well applied makeup and not overly done.
